Roads and transport will be at the top of the list at the Local Government's Association of Queensland's (LGAQ) executive meeting in Blackall tomorrow and Friday.
The executive, made up of mayors and councillors, will discuss the recommendations from the
Layton Report on Roads and Transport Infrastructure Funding released in April, including the controversial scrapping of the fuel subsidy, president Noel Playford says.
"Among our considerations will be the adoption of the final report of the Layton inquiry and a formal agreement between the association and Main Roads Department for a roads alliance to ensure the future of coordinated planning for all Queensland roads," he says.
The meeting is the first time a special executive meeting has been held outside Brisbane.
