A service running from Victoria’s bayside suburbs and Melbourne Airports will be run by Skybus
Skybus has announced it has taken over the Frankston and Peninsula Airport Shuttle (FAPAS) route between Melbourne Airport and the bayside suburb of Frankston.
Director Adam Begg says they are delighted to be expanding on its existing routes and providing an improved service for Frankston and surrounding suburb residents in connecting them to Melbourne Airport.
“Born and raised in Frankston, I understand the importance of easy, convenient and value for money services from the outer suburb to Melbourne Airport,” he says.
“We are excited to be bringing our service to Frankston and offering residents an outstanding experience.”
SkyBus has made this announcement after several customer enquiries about seeing the big red vehicles in Frankston, seemingly way off-route.
“We can now confirm the exciting news that SkyBus has arrived in Frankston – the SkyBus vehicles you see driving up and down the Nepean Highway on the existing FAPAS route are now equipped with free WiFi, and we are looking forward to introducing even more SkyBus perks to the people of Frankston throughout the year,” says Begg.
State Member for Frankston Paul Edbrooke echoes these sentiments and the importance of mass transport services for the Melbourne population.
“The Frankston community welcomes the arrival of SkyBus to our area. Improved and cost effective transport services, particularly to the airport, are incredibly important to Frankston residents and those of the outer south-eastern suburbs,” says Edbrooke.
A SkyBus journey from Frankston to Tullamarine Airport will cost $38 one-way, compared to a taxi, which could cost up to $157.
“SkyBus has an excellent reputation for providing outstanding services to its passengers, and we look forward to seeing what it has in store for the Frankston to Melbourne Airport route over the coming months,” says Edbrooke.
SkyBus can also reveal that over the next few months residents of Frankston can expect to see continuous improvements to the service, as SkyBus introduces more benefits such as its ‘Kids Travel Free’ policy, online ticket purchasing, smartphone ticketing access, and most importantly, a significant increase in reliability and services.
The addition of this new SkyBus route follows the announcement in April of the new St Kilda Airport Express service, due to commence services this winter.
